Getting Started

How can I open an account?  

You can open an account by visiting our branch or filling out an application online. Our online application takes about 10 minutes. If you’re an existing customer, you can login to online banking and proceed to open an account that way. 

What documents to do I need to open an account? 

For a faster application process, please expect to have the following documents on hand:  

  • Your Social Security number 
  • Your current residential address 
  • Your email address 
  • Your account number or cash to make an opening deposit into your new First State Bank account 

Are my deposits insured? 

The FDIC provides deposit insurance to protect your money in the event of bank failure. Your deposits are automatically insured to at least $250,000 at each FDIC-insured bank. 

Accounts & Services

What are the fees and minimum balance requirement? 

Fees and minimum balance requirements vary based on the account, loan, or service. We often waive fees if you keep a minimum balance in your account or meet other requirements. To learn more about fees and minimum balance requirements, check out each of our products. 

How do I update my personal details? 

If you would like to update your personal details, please make the changes through online banking. You may also give us a call or pay us a visit.  

How can I view my account statements? 

When you’re signed up for eStatements, you can view your account statements through your online banking. eStatements are a secure, quick way to always have access to your account information.  

Online & Mobile Banking

How do I enroll in online banking? 

Enrolling in online banking is a two step process. We will ask for your information to lookup your information and set up a username for you to use. After that, you’ll receive an email to setup your account’s password.  

In some instance, you may need to contact us to become enrolled. 

Is online banking secure? 

Online banking is convenient and generally safe. At First State Bank, we incorporate multiple layers of security to ensure your accounts and personal information remain safe. You can learn about our security measures through our Security Statement page. 

What features are available in online and mobile banking? 

Online and mobile banking allows you to securely access your First State Bank accounts and services. Through online banking, you can check balances in real time, transfer funds between accounts, and update your account info. With the FSB mobile app, you can keep track of your finances when you’re on the go. Some of the most popular features of our mobile app include making mobile deposits, setting up eAlerts, and sending money through Zelle®

Cards & Payments

How do I activate my First State Bank card?  

Activating your debit or credit card is easy. Most of the time, you’ll call the number using our toll free activation line found on the back of the card and follow the prompts. If you have any issue, please give us a call or visit our bank in Watonga. 

How long does it take to receive a replacement card? 

Our debit cards are instant issue at our branch. If for any reason you find yourself with a lost or missing card, stop by First State Bank for a replacement. If you’re not in Watonga, OK, then give us a call and we’ll help you receive a replacement as soon as possible. 

How do I set up contactless or mobile wallet payments? 

Contactless and mobile wallet payments are dependent on your mobile device. Depending on your device, you’ll want to open up your mobile wallet app and follow the prompts to enter or scan your card details and complete any verification steps required.   

Security & Fraud

What should I do if I suspect fraud or identity theft? 

If you suspect fraud or theft, please act immediately to protect your account. For step-by-step guidance, visit our Fraud Prevention page. 

What are common signs of identity theft? 

Common signs of identity theft include unfamiliar transactions, unexpected account changes, missing statements, or being alerted to accounts you didn’t open. If you notice any of these, visit our Fraud Prevention page right away for help and next steps.

Visiting & Contacting Us

What are your branch hours? 

You can find our branch open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 3pm and Friday from 9am to 4pm. 

Can I book an appointment with a banker? 

We love seeing familiar faces and new faces. If you’d like to make an appointment, please give us a call.
